A fried turkey the skin is more crispier and it tastes like fried chicken almost
A baked turkey tends to be healthier and takes longer than a fried turkey.....but I like fried turkey better b/c my mom puts cajun seasonings on it.

Fried Turkey is very good. It is usually injected with cajun spices that give it a little zip, but most certainly not as harsh as Cajun sounds like it would be. We also use a rub that is cajun and the skin had a little bite to it as well. It is a lot of work, to get the peanut oil and the turkey cooker out. So, I would recommend joining in with some friends to help share the expenses. We usualy do 3 or 4 turkeys when we get it all out. It take a good amount of time when you do a group like that... but everyone loves it. A good friend of mine ordered one from Bojangles (It is a fast food type restaurant - not sure if you have those where you are) but it was as good as any she had ever had. And a lot easier, than the whole process of buying and cooking (and no risk of messing it up!). Good luck and enjoy!

I would say that a fried turkey would taste better if marinated well. A baked turkey would taste juicier. But since nowadays everything is frozen, better fry 'em! Or both - my friend used to bake it and then fry it.

a properly fried turkey is moist throughout, well, same with a baked turkey... the skin is different, that is basically it. I like baked best.

eww wee, once you had deep fried turkey, you will never want one baked again. they are a world of difference from each other. also my people take and slice the turkey raw, then fry it in butter in cast iron skillet. we do one with cajun seasonings, one with garlic butter, one in oven. the skillet fried turkey is for breakfast. we feed 60-70 people with the 3 whole turkey's.the breakfast turkey is for the 12-15 people whom show up to help put the feast together. our christmas party starts today and will last till tuesday morring. i love coming from a rather LARGE family. oh yes almost forgot. we only use peanutt oil to deep fry in.

If fried correctly it locks in the juices and baking can really dry a turkey out if you do not keep it basted.

Unless you inject EVOO and spices into a baked or roasted turkey, they really don't have much flavor. Fried turkey is very tasty and very tender. You simply MUST try it!

Merry Christmas!

I personally believe that fried turkey is nasty. People take so many traditional things and turn them into something else. Keep the holiday tradition that has been going on for years the way it is.
