a pound is 3500 calories. so you'd probably have to exercise two hours, if you're running at top speed. but have a plan. exercise and burn a little each day.

I'd also like to lose weight before new years. I'm aiming for 5lbs though.
Uhm....there are 3,500 calories in one pound. So if you are consuming 1,300 (lets say) a day... then you need to burn off those 1,300 + another 2 thousand or so to burn off 3,500 calories.
Hopefully your tredmil keeps track of the amount of calories you've burned. If not, theirs these "Calorie calculators" online ....just type that into the search..... and you enter your weight and then it usually lists a whole bunch of activities and asks how many minutes you'll be spending doing it...and it then calculates it.
so say you only want to go on the tredmill for an hour....type "60 minutes" or whatever .. into the spot for the minutes...and it'll tell you how many calories you'll burn in 60 minutes. ---- it probably wont be TOTALLY accurate, its only an estimate.
Good luck!...dont forget to be healthy. Drink plenty of water and eat a lot of fruits and veggies. Dont skip your multivitamin (The vitamin B group can sometimes help speed the metabolism.)

3000 calories equals a pound, so you have to burn more than you consume plus 3000 calories, to lose 1 lb,thats alot of walking/running,Merry Christmas, or try those 3 day diets where u only get to drink the juice good luck

C'mon Hoopz, why not just do this because it's good for you? Try this:
Drink lots of water, walk, run, or swim an hour every day except 1 then do stretching and upper body toning. Eat fruits & vegetables.
No alcohol
no bread
no burgers
No candy
No chips
no corn
no fried foods
No pasta
No pizza
No potatoes
No sodas
No sugar
Don't hate

I know that 3500 calories is a pound, so I would assume that if you lburn 3500 calories, that would be a pound of weight loss.

dear you dont have to exercose, but it will take 2-3 months if you have to lose your weight without diet/excercise/weakness.
dont do diet, because of this you will feel weakness.
