It's no myth. I am addicted to coffee. In fact, if I don't have my first cup by 6:30 in the morning I will have a headache. Weekends suck because I either wake up early or wake up late and with a headache.
Surprisingly, the times that I did quit drinking coffee during pregnancy, I never woke up with a headache. The first few days were awful, mind you, but once I cleared it from my system it was great.
It's crazy, but I love the taste so much, I would rather suffer with the addiction than stop.

Yep. I worked at an intense job where I would drink 6-8 cups of coffee a day just to keep moving.
Then, before I went on a long overseas trip, I thought I would try what was known as the JetLag diet, to better accommodate my body to the time change.
The most important component of the JetLag diet was cutting out caffeine cold turkey.
So I did, and didn't think anything of it, and had a crippling headache. I mean as if somebody was hammering an icepick into my sinus cavities. I was at work, so I finally stumbled into the breakroom and bought a coach. I took a few sips and my headache VANISHED.
I knew immediately that caffeine is addictive and I was going through withdrawal pains. So, after that, I slowly weaned myself off caffeine, getting down to no more than two drinks a day. Now I can skip it for a day with no side effects whatsoever.
But I still need my morning coffee to get up and going.

Coffee, or rather the caffeine is addictive. No different that nicotine. The headaches are just with-drawl symptoms of the body wanting the caffeine. The bad temper is just someone not willing to control themselves.

nope its not a myth. studies show that you actually can become addicted to coffee. because what caffeine does is it blocks message receving cells in the brain, so your body never gets the sign to slow down when its tired(which is what makes people feel so awake) so eventually, your brain creates more receptor cells to make room for the caffeine, and the brain's regular functions, so that the person in question will have to keep drinking more and more caffeine in order to block all the brain's receptor cells. this is how a person becomes a caffeine addict, experts say it is a good idea to quit coffee gradually though, and not depend on it so heavily, hope i helped!

I think coffee is an addictive drink because if I do not have coffee when I wake up I will not be able to go to school.

You can become dependent on the caffeine in the coffee...the same thing can happen to people who drink a lot of soda.

I just said no but realised I would be in denial if I said no, because I do harper on for a brand new cup to be made.
