i keep having these masive breakdowns everyday, since he got a new g/f...and now hes pissed at me to the point where he wont even look at me...and im so hurt...b/c i liked him sooooo much...and i still do...and mike says he still likes me...ive thought about it over and over...i dont understand how he could just jump from me to some other girl...his ex actually...i dont understand this....how do i fix this? i keep deciding every day to just talk to him...but then when i get to the point where im going to...all my words are lost...and i breakdown and cry again........

Ok...wow..i know how you feel...relationships are sooo hard...think of it like this...if he is not with you...he is NOT RIGHT for you..or it jut might not be the right time for the both of ?? If he is right, he will be back...but please DON'T wait...Be strong..i know its hard..but you can do it!!! Show him what he is missing, be confident, and you fly!! Breakdowns are emotions...don't let your emotions get the best of you!!

Wow, lots of things happening here.
First- You are not overreacting. Your feelings are hurt and you are trying to figure out what is wrong with you. Its not you.
Second-Speaking from personal experiance (not proud of it) guys like what they can't have. They like the challange and ultimatly the conquer. It is a self esteem thing really. That is probably why he went back with his ex. He can't understand why she didn't want to be with him and going back fixes his ego.
Third-You probably aren't going to like this but... Do not call him. Don't have to be rude but if he calls you don't mention your feelings and keep the conversations short. If you keep him at bay and he really wants you he will start the romance again with you. But to be honest at this point I don't think it's a good idea to strike up a relationship with him again.
Move on.

Answer to your question: You both LIKED each other, you didn't LOVE each other. Deal with it and move on. It's over. So yes, you ARE over-reacting and making yourself look like a fool.
