I guess, that you can never really be sure...

Would you still love her if she got cancer and the chemo made all her hair fall out? Would you still love her if she was constantly throwing up? Would you love her if she became mentally ill, or she lost her short term memory and forgot you every morning? Would you still look after her, and choose to be with her? Now, it's very unlikely that any of these things would happen and it's alright to say, 'no I'm not sure I would, but I would try, for her sake'. But don't pretend to be 100% sure that you would do these things if, when the time came, you just ran away when she needed you the most.

'Real' Love is not so much an emotion, as a choice. You have to choose to 'love' her, and to make it work out, even when things get tough. You can't be head over heels in love with her all the time, it's just not going to happen. However, you can choose to be good to her, be kind to her and be faithful. These are things you have control over. Obviously it works boths ways, she's got to choose you, and you've got to be sure that she knows what she's getting herself into, and that she is truely committed to make the relationship work.

And, in answer to what some people seem to think, I don't think that you automatically know if you've found the right person or not. In fact, I think it's better to have doubts and wait until you are sure that you've found the one, than to think every other person you date is 'her'. If you have doubts it can mean that you are worried of hurting her, or yourself, on a false hope. It may be that you just love her so much, the thought of hurting her makes you cringe, but there again, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe some people do automatically know. But, the man I thought was the one, wasn't. So who am I to instruct you on matters of the heart? After all, only you (and God) can truly know your own heart, truly know if you are ready and wiling to make such a commitment.

You can tell if you've found miss right after you have been friends for a good amount of time. When you can definitely see yourself with her no matter what and you want to plan a future with her and she feels the same way. Otherwise, you've probably just found miss right now.

I am going through the same thing....but you should JUST KNOW....you have to know in your heart...doubt means don't. Do you have similiar interests, and love her unconditionally, what about her family, do you love them? Can you picture kids? Remember ppl make mistakes....just take some time to be quiet and listen to your heart, it will tell you if you really listen
