God could fall into an atheist's lap, and they'd deny it. In any case, this is an ignorant question. The prophets did not create God. God is something that believers create in themselves, if God does not already exist there in the first place. It is a waste of time to argue the truth of this matter. It is a personal experience that cannot be captured in a forum such as this. The only way you'll be able to answer this question is to look deep inside yourself.

I have an atheist friend who asks a funny question when things go wrong for him: "Do you think God is punishing me for not believing in him?"

I always smile and say, "Yes!!" Fact is, though, bad things happen to me, too. We are both the same, regardless of differing beliefs. We have been friends for almost two decades. I respect his beliefs (or lack thereof), and he respects mine. I would rather everyone were like this. Then a question like this would not even be asked.

Well, your question will open more than one path !

first if prophets created a god, than we can't call it a god again, why ? because it is created !

Second, if you say that you want prophets to create a god more reliable, than what I understand is that you do believe in a God but not up to your standards and criteria ! Than why call your self an atheist ?

Third, if you are an atheist, and want to be so, than why follow the prophets ?

Your question should be more clear !

God is the universal spirit running the machine. You cannot judge him or explain him("him") with physical words and/or properties. Don't get so hung up with peoples versions of what spiritual people like Jesus or Buddha said- read it yourself-make your own decisions. I kind of like many of the American Native "indians" ideas on the issue myself and guess I'm considered a "hippie" Christain but I read everything and know there is a set of unmistakable "rules" out there and a personal growth we are here to attain, however we wish to do that. The original meaning of "sin" was to miss the mark- My Mom used to say that if you put a bump in the wheel, it will hit you in the head later on. I think thats a pretty simple truth and I believe in it- its a "do unto others thing" or ripple effect. And the idea that God took 7 days or whatever to create the world- There is no time for God, everything is in the Now. Why 7 days? To God it could have been moments, to us it could have been millions of years- hence sience is sensible and right! Or both concepts are of course---just a little rant- don't know if it will help- just know all spiritual people aren't bible thumpers- some of us are readers---Happy Holidays!

The prophets did not "create" God. It's the other way around. See that's the thing, God gave everyone free will. It's a choice to have faith and believe.

Maybe if we were more reliable people then God would be more reliable. Should we receive what we want in life with very little effort. Just imagine God giving into our every desire without any rules for us to live by. Imagine him being always at our beck and call without us having to expend any effort.

Having faith is all there is to it. You need faith to open your eyes to truth. Not everyone will see him even when they hear his words of truth, He is the King and Lord and Savior and you must listen in order to see him:

Watch the movie the Passion of Christ and theres a scene in the movie where Christ is talking to Puntious Pilot:

"Pilate then went back inside the palace, summoned Jesus and asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews?"

"Is that your own idea," Jesus asked, "or did others talk to you about me?"

"Am I a Jew?" Pilate replied. "It was your people and your chief priests who handed you over to me. What is it you have done?"

Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place."

"You are a king, then!" said Pilate.

Jesus answered, "You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."

"What is truth?" Pilate asked. With this he went out again to the Jews and said, "I find no basis for a charge against him. "" (John 18:33-38)

First you should figure out why you don't already believe in Him when science even shows there had to be a designer behind all this miraculous creation. If you can't have faith in His goodness in providing a world for us and an eternity and His Son as a sacrifice why don't you ask Him to build your faith so you CAN see.

The prophets created nothing. They merely did as they were told.

If that were the case the notion of faith would become irrelevant. The belief in absolutes permeates all faiths and anti-faiths and the middle ground of the open mind is the victim

God created man with the ability of free will. Don't believe if you don't want to, He's not going to force you to believe. You will have to pay the consequences though! If you are right, you haven't lost anything, but if you are wrong...!!
