My little brother has this problem. Just ween yourself off of it. Like if you suck it all the time then just try sucking at night. Then start sucking it only in your bed before you fall asleep...etc..etc..etc..

If there is no cut on your thumb, apply some lemon juice on the thumb. The tang will help you keep away from sucking the thumb. You can keep a small bottle of lemon juice ready in your bag, so that you can apply some juice on the thumb from time to time, if the sucking habit persists. Of course you have to resist the urge to wash your thumb from time to time, in order that the tang stays on.

Put bitters or soap on your thumb to make the it taste bad. Watch yourself in the mirror next time you find yourself sucking on your thumb. Not only is it immature but your dental heath will deteriorate as you teeth start to stick out. Do you really want people your age to see you doing this? Do you want your teeth to be bucked out?

This only works if you don't like pepper.
1.Dip your finger in a bowl of cold water.
2.Dip your wet finger into a bowl of pepper
3.If the pepper is too visible, brush some back into the bowl by rubbing your finger on a paper towel or the side of the bowl
GOOD LUCK!!!!!

You obviously have an oral fixation. Perhaps chew gum whenever you have the urge to suck your thumb.

Do you know why you are doing it? Maybe you should try to find another way of comforting yourself. Gum maybe. Do you believe in prayer? Prayer might help.
