Hun, I know you love him... but this kid sounds like the laziest piece alive. Huge red flag. The fact that he's a slob and has no table manners is the least of your problems with him. He has zero motivation in life. He could care less to get a job, he could care less to even go to college and get a degree. He's perfectly fine living at home mooching off of his parents. I'm not sure if you see a future with this guy, but I'm telling you there won't BE one with him. How is he going to afford a ring to propose? How is he going to earn money to take care of a family? I really don't think you guys are all that compatible honestly. You can do a lot better because this lack of motivation is a huge problem and it's not really going to just change. This is who he is as a person. Secondly, it's pretty bad when you're so embarrassed of the person you're dating. It's even worse that you can't even be honest with everyone. You have to lie. That should tell you how ashamed you are of him. That's not a relationship you should be in. You should want to show off your partner. I don't know. I really think you can do a lot better.

I too have always had trouble opening gifts. I always felt like if I did not get excited enough I may hurt someone's feelings and if I got too excited I would look like an inmature child. I am 27 now and so over it. Two days ago, my husband put a huge gift for me under the tree. I got all excited and begged him to let me open it. I ripped the paper off like a child and it felt good!!! I got so excited, ran around, jumped up and down....it was awesome. Who cares what anyone else thinks about me...I got about 63 years left to act like me...not what I think people want me to be!!! Get excited, rip it!

why would you be embarrassed? He's just showing you htat he cares for you and he loves you. If it's really sketching you out, maybe you guys cna say that you cna't open it until christmas day, and open it when he's not there. taht way it will give you time to think about what you want to say to him and how to thank him. Plus you don't have to have him sitting there watching you while you open it.
don't worry too much though. its all for fun and love =)
good luck

I don't think its weird. I don't like to open presents in front of people myself. Always worrying what my facial expression is saying at the first glance. Are you maybe worried about how much money he spent compared to what you spent?....
I wouldn't worry, maybe just open it when he's not around.

this is scarrily strange,
is it that you dont want him to see you open it incase its a horrible nasty gift that you have to pretend to like, or maybe you're scared he'll buy you some new sex toy??
dunno, but open it and enjoy the season of giving and receiving
and merry christmas

Will you be opening it in front of your parents, and is it in the shape of a giant fist?
