Instead of "crazy" it's more precise to use "mental disorder".
Schizophrenia is a common mental disorder. Some of the symptoms are: Illusion, delusion.(Hearing voices, thinking that invisible beings are watching you and influencing your life etc...), irrational and illogical thinking. So what you are describing is exactly symptomatic of schizophrenic mental disorder.
If the disorder leads to suffering for the patient or his environment then its a mental disease. What is also less precisely called "being crazy".

Well, in the case of people doing something crazy like throwing kids off a bridge, the person is most likely mentally ill with schizophrenia and is having auditory hallucinations. These people usually have a history of untreated mental illness and it finally comes to a head when they do something so horrifying that people can't possibly ignore it anymore.
But there are other people who talk about God speaking to them regularly through signs or in prayer. The people who talk about this are usually using God for guidance to lead a better life. They are not usually talking about God commanding them to do something.
It's a hard difference to explain. But I've had clients who are having delusions and hallucinations, and I've had clients who just happen to use their religion as a guide in life. It's really easy to see the difference when they're talking to you about it.

God gets used to justify lots of nut jobs that do crazy things. The reason we have the Bible is that people sometimes get it wrong when they think God told them stuff...they can check and if it contradicts the Bible then they need to rethink their vision dream or order to shoot the president because God will not contradict his word.

One thing about God is that He doesnt ask us to hurt or harm or kill people.... satan does a great job at mimicking God's voice and many people are drawn into satan's lies

She killed her children because "god" (an invisible voice in her head, most likely) told her to.
HOW IS THAT NOT CRAZY?
