Ginger calms the stomach. This is why a lot of people suggest ginger ale. I think Gingedr tea might be better, because the carbination in soda may upset your stomach even more. If you are hungry, try chicken broth. Get some canned chicken soup and skip the noodles, veggies, and chicken. Feel Better. Oh yeah, wash you hands a lot, it really helps.

Honey is the most medicinal food you can eat or add to your drinks. It has worked wonders for me over the years. Also eat fruits & vegetables high in vitamin C. It boosts your immune system. Chicken soup is always good, but better if you make your own. Canned soups are loaded with MSG, so don't eat those. Keep away from milk products since this causes more mucus when you are sick. When you get better, go back to it. Keep your diet free from junk food since processed food does nothing for your body. Everything you eat should should be beneficial to your body in some way. But above all, honey is the best medicine. I read online that honey never goes bad. They found honey in a tomb over 2000 years old and it was still good! It is also the only food in the world that can sustain life if you ate nothing else. The benefits of honey are endless. If you could afford it, buy Raw Honey. It is the healthiest thing you could eat and will help you get better.

How long have you been like this? You need to be concerned with dehydration if you are not able to keep anything down! I would try drinking Gatorade or someother type of sports drink (even try pedialyte if that will work for you) that will replace the electrolytes you have lost while vomitting. BRAT is good to use, but is often more for diarrhea than nausea/vomitting. Try some weak tea and toast, nothing spicy or real sweet...BLAND is the key word. Also start small don't eat a lot at once, eat 6 small meals and advance as tolerated to larger meals and your usual diet. Please call your doctor and make an appointment ASAP.

I would recommend drinking ginger ale or getting some flavored Pedialite (yes adults can drink it.). It has plenty of nutrients that will help you feel better. Water is not good on an empty stomach. Eating soup, crackers and jello always helps me. I would go see a doctor if you are not better within 24-48 hours. If you have the stomach flu, you may be contagious.

Don't drink milk or OJ.

Try some scrambled eggs with a piece of toast.

Chicken noodle soup or any other noodle based soup.

Mashed potatoes

Pasta with a lite sauce. Nothing spicy or greasy.

Or the B R A T diet which they say to give kids when they are sick and have been throwing up...to start them on solids again give them:

Bananas

Rice

Apple sauce

Toast

Best way to clear a cold is to keep warm, sleep or rest and drink lots of natural healthy fluids (i.e.) herbal teas, hot water with lemon juice, home-made freshly squeezed orange juice, room temp filtered water, vegetable broth. Things like powerade are full of artificial colours - you need to drink natural healthy fluids instead. Soup is not expensive and home-made soup is very good for colds. Anyone can make this one, even a non-cook. Even my five year old cousin can make it! It will cost less than $5.00 to buy all the ingredients and it will make enough to last for a few meals: 1) Peeled and seeded pumpkin cut into cubes (300 - 500g) 2) Peeled & sliced red or brown onion (1) 3) Peeled & grated garlic (2 - 5 segment pieces) 4) Peeled & grated ginger root (half inch) 5) Put all of above in pot and cover with water or vegetable stock. Optional: if required, add additional seasoning (i.e.) teaspoon vegetable stock powder, teaspoon miso, chopped up fresh parsley, cracked pepper. 6) Bring to boil, when the pumpkin is soft remove pan from heat and allow to cool. 7) When cool, blend it in food processer. If you don’t have a food processer, mashing it up with a fork or potato masher works well too. 8) Store in a container (glass if possible) in the fridge 9) Gently re-heat portion on stove when ready to eat. Only re-heat in a microwave if you have no other choice because microwaved food is pretty bad for your health. Onion, garlic and ginger are considered Super Foods as they have lots of beneficial health qualities. Onion, garlic and ginger (especially the ginger) are exceptionally good for healing colds / flu and clearing up stuffiness / mucous etc… Cayenne pepper is also exceptional good for colds/flu and half a teaspoon can be added to the soup also. May I suggest to you that you have an impaired immune system from the crap that you eat. Sorry I am not trying to be rude, just truthful. I use to eat really badly too and got sick all the time, but not had a cold/flu outbreak since I changed my diet. There is absolutely no nutritional value in cheezits, cookies and microwave dinners. You need to get vitamins and minerals inside you everyday, in the form of fresh raw fruit, fresh raw vegetables, fresh home-made vegetable juices and green smoothies. This way you will mainly avoid colds/flu, and if you do come down with something you will recover quicker. Avoid milk and all dairy products, as they cause mucous build up which will only add to the congestion. Things like sugars and grains (i.e.) wheat, bread, biscuits etc... should also be avoided during this time, as they can also cause other related health issues. I find cheezits, cookies and microwave dinners to be very expensive and fresh fruit and vegetables to be very cheap. Plus fresh fruit and vegetables can be stretched a long way. I made a similar soup recently, the total ingredients cost me $3.50 and the soup lasted for 3 days. Hope you feel better soon. .

start slowly with some sprite or 7-up. You might also try some jello.
If that stays down try the BRAT diet used for kids who are sick.
Bananas , Rice, Applesauce & Toast.
Hope you feel better soon!

avoid milk and its products as they are not so easy to digest. have plenty of water preferabaly with a pinch of salt and spoonful sugar. As far as food is concerned you can have simple rice with cereals. Mix rice and cereals (broken ones not the whole grain) and add 4 times water, salt & pepper and cook in pressure cooker. top it up with some butter before eating. it might not taste good but its good for condition.
