in the uk a supermarket can apply for a premises license to sell alcohol 24-7, except sundays when the sunday trading hours laws apply.

if it's open 24 hours and they apply to do so, the licensing authority cannot stop them selling alcohol all the time they are open.

so there will be local variations on hours you can buy alcohol in supermarkets depending on the store hours and whether they've bothered to apply for a license to sell alcohol all the time they are open. if they haven't, the old hours of 11 am to 11 pm apply.

If you're in the US, that depends on your state. In some states you can't buy at a supermarket; in others, only certain kinds of alcohol. But this is ENTIRELY state (and in some case, county) dependent.

It varies between states. In Pennsylvania, you can't even buy beer at a supermarket or gas station.

I also think it varies from state to state. Here in Michigan you cannot buy weekdays between 2am and 7 am Sudays are different but I'm not sure about the time, I think it's 10 am instead of 7

In England and Wales alcohol can be sold at anytime if the supermarket has a 24 hour alcohol licence issued by the local council but in Scotland you can't buy alcohol after 10pm, even at supermarkets that open 24 hours.

At Tesco, I'm pretty sure you can buy it all night, (as long as they are open) ever since the drinking laws were changed
