BACON WRAPPED SCALLOPS
24 scallops
bacon
brown sugar
toothpicks
Wrap scallops with bacon. Skewer with toothpicks.
Sprinkle brown sugar on top. Broil 2-3 minutes, flip and repeat.
BACON WRAPPED SCALLOPS
1 lb. fresh sea scallops (the lg. variety)
1 lb. sliced good quality bacon (not too fatty, preferably smoked bacon)
Juice of 1 fresh lemon
2 tbsp. olive oil
Fresh pepper
Long toothpicks or skewers
Mix olive oil, lemon juice and pepper in small bowl. Pour over scallops and marinate in refrigerator for about an hour. Wrap each scallop with 1/2 strip of bacon. Keep together with toothpick or put 3-4 on each skewer.
Place on broiler pan. Broil in oven until golden brown and bacon is done to desired crispness.
You can use whole water chestnuts instead of scallops. Serve hot.

3/4 cook the bacon in a fry pan first, drain , then wrap around the scallop. I would bake them in the oven at 375*F for about 12-15 mins.

2 lbs Sea Scallops (the bigger the better!!)
1 Lb bacon (cut slices in half)
1 jar of Bar-b-que sauce (smoked, hicory, mesquite are favs of ours)
Pan fry bacon until cooked, but still very chewy, drain on paper towels. Wrap around scallops and pin with skewers or toothpics. Brush with sauce and lay on cookie sheet and bake at 350 until scallops are done (12 minutes or until slightly firm. They will feel like med to med well steaks when prodded)

Sounds like you've got some pretty good answers, I don't think you want the bacon too crispy otherwise it will overpower the scallop, these are great together as I've done for many years and they always go very well, I oven them till about 3/4 done then sear them in a hot skillet. good luck!
