Here's some information: http://www.hoxworth.org/donate_blood_faq.htm
They take just under a pint of blood. Most adults have 10 to 12 pints in their body. Within 24 hours your plasma levels are back to normal -- the red blood cells take 3 to 5 weeks, and the iron that was lost is replaced in 6 to 8 weeks. From my experience I've felt normal by the next day.

If youre worried, dont be. Once the donation is complete, the donor is given a bandage or gauze to stop further blood flow and is normally allowed to leave. Beverages and snacks may be provided to restore blood volume and blood sugar, and to settle the stomach. Often donors are encouraged to sit down for a few minutes to return to normality, as lightheadedness and faintness may occur. In some countries, stickers are worn by donors to show the donor's pride and to encourage others to give. The entire process, from screening through recovery, takes about one hour. The actual blood donation takes between four and fifteen minutes for whole blood donation. Donors are discouraged from heavy exercise or lifting until the next day. Plasma volumes will return to normal in around 24 hours, while red blood cells are replaced by bone marrow into the circulatory system within about 3-5 weeks, and lost iron replaced over 6-8 weeks. This recovery process can be speeded by eating foods high in complex carbohydrates, iron, and other trace minerals. Due to the time frame required for iron replacement, donors are eligible to donate whole blood approximately eight to twelve weeks after the previous donation (the exact period varying by country); in the USA, the waiting period for the two red cell units apheresis donors is 112 days.

For a normal blood donation, you are allowed to donate 450 ml in one "sitting". The internal homoeostasis of the body will respond and produce new blood cells and after three months , you can donate again. 3 donations within a year , every after 3-4 months is allowed as long as the person meets all the basic requirement as to age, weight, height, BP and hemoglobin levels an are negative in the screening tests for disease conditions.

lets see, there are eight pints in the body and blood banks take one point. You're supposed to donate three times a year. That said, the body's blood supply is regenerated every seven years, so by that reasoning it'd take nearly a year to reproduce.

Unless I'm mistaken (which I could be), it takes about 8 weeks. That's why you can't donate more than ones in an 8 week period. Check out the red cross website for a more accurate answer.

One pint is taken. The spleen stores one pint of blood. So by the next day you are back to where you were.
