LimeWire is 100% illegal and anyone who uses it doesn't respect the law or the artists who created the music. It's no different than stealing a CD from a store! I encourage everyone to stop using it and start respecting the law and the music industry!

The program itself actually is legal, but if you download copyrighted material, THAT is illegal. It is not illegal to use LimeWire, just to download illegal things.

It's legal unless you are downloading copyright material you would normally have to pay for - like music and software.

Technically, file sharing is legal if the person with the download offers to give it to you is what I read. Otherwise, it is illegal.
