Could someone list some famous Oil Painters that do a lot of dry brush or impresionism? It's the style i'm using in my oil painting and i need a mentor.

Monet
Delacroix
Renoir

Degas
Cezanne

I don't lnow any dry brush artists...well, maybe I do and don't realize it. But, the impressionists are my favorite...if you truly want inspiration, look especially into Monet and Renoir.

Take a close look at Renoir .. i used not to like him : all too chocolate boxey but he is very brave in his compositions . and all delicacy Velasquez ...really the first painter to paint in an imprsionistic way . ie what he saw rather than the academic painter who paint what they know to be there . I always have a book open of someone ..... The worst thing for your painting is to go to a village hall exhibition and see bad painters !!!!

go to dogpile and type in american impressionists there will will find exactly what you re looking for but in a slightly more modern feel to it if that makes any sense good luck with your own work in the new year
