By being present in your child's life, by teaching them the things they need to grow up to be productive and happy adults, and by understanding there is alot more to being a good father than earning an income.

A good Father is more than just a good provider financially. A good Father is there for his kids emotionally as well. A good Father will spend quality time with his children and take the time to really listen to them and let the kids know that he is always there for them no matter what. I think a good Father is a good example for his children also and puts their neewds ahead of his own.

I think its impossible for some people to be good parents.
But a good father comes home after work and plays/talks to his kids. He listens to them and shows interest. Because a good father finds priority in that over rushing to the bar. A good father is affectionate towards the mother bc its simply what his kids need to see. A good father praises his kids for a job well done and for a good try. A good father dosent beat on you or call you names,he's around, tucks you in at night and calls when he cant. A good father does all the things he has fond memeories of and breaks the cycle of the bad.

Love your child unconditionally and show him/her your love by investing your time in them. Don't tell your kids you are too busy for them. My husband always makes time for our kids, no matter how tired or busy he is.

But, also discipline them. Set rules and make them stick. Rules let kids know that you care what happens to them. This is something they won't realize until later in life and they are sometimes hard to enforce, but they are very necessary.

Teach them about God's love for them and how to live for Him. The best way to do that is show by example.

there are many books on the many styles of parenting out there. Read a few and pick a style and then continue reading more books along that style all thru the development of the child. When you get to the point that you know enuff to stop learning then you lose and so does the child

Unconditional Love
You need to be actively involved in your childrens lives, support them through exciting times and you will have those rocky moments, but must never give up on them.
