This is a common complaint from cat owners...you can buy them toys, beds, whatever, but unless the cat is interested you might as well give it away. You can try the catnip technique, or trying moving the bed to a location the cat might like.
Cats like to be up high to survey their territory, which is probably why he's on the compter table.

I had a cat but he never slept on the table so I am not an expert at this. However maybe you can gently pick up your cat once he falls asleep and place him in the bed that is rightfully the place for him to sleep and keep doing it until he gets the message and eventually I believe he will accept his new sleeping spot. Well thats what I would do, so if you like you can try that. I love cats, give your cat a hug for me. All the best in getting your cat in his own bed.

When training a cat to do something my neighbor squirts hers with a spray bottle because naturally cats don't like water, but my cat likes sleeping on the table too and what I have done is when i see her laying on the table i just pick her up and put her in a blanket lined basket and love on her and if you keep doing that when your cat is there then eventually your cat will go to the bed instead of the table.

Cats enjoy high places just like they like warm areas, my cat actually likes being under our computer table right on top of the vents getting all the warm air. I recommend you place some of his favorite toys in the bed and placing the bed near his favorite spot, then you can move it little by little until it is placed where you want it. You might want to check the texture of the bed and maybe covering it with a softer cloth something that you noticed he likes. Also if he likes to be petted give him a lot of affection whenever he is in the bed. He will eventually get the picture. Good luck.

Cats dont usually like essential oil of lavender, put some on a cushion or two, maybe one either end of the couch and the chances are she will look at you disgustedly. At the same time put some very extra special food or treats in her basket, but not stuff that you give her any other time - just keep those treats for the basket. And keep out of the way - cats can pick up your body language and be awkward so and so's - just go to another room and ignore her in the couch room.

You need to train your cat not to sleep on the table, getting him off that can lead him to the bed (or someplace else its hard to say with felines). The best non-harmful way is to get a cheap squirt gun and squirt the cat with water when he starts to sleep on the table. Cats don't like to get hit with water like that and he'll associate sleeping on the table with getting squirted. He'll then try to find a new place to sleep that is warm, if you want put the bed on a warm air vent to keep it warm and he may choose it.

Try putting your cat into the bed daily to see if he will stay and sleep there. We bought one for our cat, she would stay there sometimes if we put her in there, and a few times she crawled in there herself. It seems that cats tend to find a favorite spot to lay and they change it once in a while. You can't really force the cat to sleep in the bed. You could try rewarding the cat with treats when it is in the bed, but once the cat is done eating he will probably jump out.

You don't make a cat do anything. If you want to encourage sleeping on the bed, put some catnip on it and shoo him away from it a few times. Seriously. Reverse psycology sometimes works with cats because they are so stubborn. Good luck!

Give up now, you are wasting your time. The cat will sleep where it wants to sleep. But all is not lost, they change their routine themselves from time to time so you will probably get your computer table back eventually.

Sprinkle some cat nip in it just a little and put him in it . He will love it a couple times of this and he should start liking his bed over the table.
