Generally speaking, yes.
Also, I work as a ticket agent and we tell passengers that medications cannot be checked. Should your bag be misplaced, you'd be without your medication, and that's definitely not good. So, your only other option is to carry it on.
But there are some relatively new guidelines and rules in effect pertaining to liquids. So, if your medicine is a pill you shouldn't have any problems. But for the liquids, there is a rule called the 3-1-1 rule. The liquid must be 3 oz or less, in 1 quart size clear ziploc plastic bag, and only 1 ziploc per person. If your medication is more than 3 oz it will have to be prescription and have your name on it (and match the name on your boarding pass).
Keep in mind that I don't work for TSA and TSA is in control of surcurity. This is just my take from talking to TSA workers, reading memos, and seeing posters. Also, the rules are the same everywhere in the US from what I can tell, but my supervisor mentioned a situation which brought up the idea that the rules are open to interpretation. I don't see it, but I'm just warning you.

Of course. You will probably never even be checked, as TSA is not concerned with medications. They ahve not been used as a weapon, as least not yet..lol. The only place where you might get checked is if you are flying internationally and you go through customs. They might verify that it is a legal drug, and that it is in your name.
Always make sure that the medicine you are flying with are legal if you are flying into another country. Some countries( like strict counries in the middle east for example )consider many drugs to be illegal narcotics that we take without thinking twice. So always double check that if you are flying into another country. But as far as flying domestically, it is never an issue, unless maybe you have 500 bottles in your bag.

Medications can be carried on flights. In the US they are not counted in the rule that liquids must be 3 oz or less and in a plastic bag...but you must declare them to the security agents. Here is the TSA page on traveling with medicines: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/specialneeds/index.shtm
Rules are similar in Europe and the UK. Check here: http://www.gva.ch/en/PortalData/1/Resources//fichiers/publications/publications_informative/20061106_surete-gva_en.pdf or the British Airways site: http://baa.com/
Here is our page on that: http://www.mousetourstravels.com/packing-medications.html and a sample form to help: http://www.mousetourstravels.com/form-to-declare-medications.html
Happy travels!

yes, there shouldnt be a problem so long as they are labelled correctly ie: what it is and who its for etc
Most airlines specify the criteria on the airline ticket or on signs
it should be fine (unless your wanting to take kilos of it) which would then make it highly suspicious

They call these ppl mules , they stuff condoms full of dope and swallow them . If they are lucky enough to get where they are going before they bust , they have to poop them out in some cheap motel to hand them over to the dealer that is waiting !!!
