Do you mean to keep it warm until mealtime. If so yes you can but it's best to cover it with foil to trap the moisture. It will dry out pretty quick and then all your hard work will be rewarded with rubbery meat. You are so much better off trying to time the meal to finish cooking about a half hour before serving. Remember that a good steak, bird or roast has to "rest" a little while on the counter before serving. Cutting into it too soon causes it to dry out too.

you can put meat in the oven...there are several ways to cook meat in the oven.....you can broil it under the broiler...hamburgers are especially good like this (gets rid of all the excess grease if cooked on a broiler pan)....you can bake chicken....pork chops are great in the oven, just bread them and bake on a cookie sheet....you can do roasts in the oven...the possibilities are endless

if it needs to be cooked -yes
not all meat needs to be cooked this way.
if you just want to keep it warm until ready to serve then make sure the temp. is on low and it is covered. Don't keep it in the oven for long though or it may dry out.
