The costs of raising Pugs are pretty high. Start with the breeding: Pugs should be at least two years old, and need to be tested for eye problems, hip problems, and brucellosis before they're bred. Your girl should be up to date on all her shots before you go into this, as well as wormed. Then pay the stud fee, which is usually the price of a puppy or more. If you ship your girl, add a few hundred more there too to get her to him and back.

There are a lot of risks in breeding a pug. Are you prepared to handle the fact that you might not make much money? They have a rather small litter and there's always that chance they have to have a C-Section. If you aren't prepared to handle that, then I say don't breed

Don't breed your dog with any intention of 'making money.'
It won't happen. The cost of pre-natal care, and vacanations for the new puppies will not be offset by what you charge for the puppies. Not if you are honest about what your intentions are.
Puppy Mills are the worst thing to ever happen. Dedicated dog breeders do so only to improve the breed. Period.

No - not if you do it right (get the proper genetic health clearances, etc). And this breed is prone to needing c-sections, FYI. It generally costs more to raise a litter than it does to spay a dog. More info to read & consider: http://www.woodhavenlabs.com/breeding.html

All the above and don't forget that they have to have c-sections frequently which makes it very pricey.
