Do you have any success stories about having a long distance relationship with someone? I've met a couple people online from out of my state but each time hasn't been working well.

I met my fiancee online via a Forum because we both have similar interests in vehicles.

We talked online for several months before meeting face to face. We lived 2 1/2 hours from each other (one way) so I visited for about a year before I moved down to live with him.

We started dating in 2003. We just got engaged Aug '06.

They DO work. They are hard, but as long as you trust them it will work.

I met my bf and we've been through many things, but the point is we are still with each other ( not physically). We both hope that one day we will really be together and wont be parted again. Its been a long time and I truly believe that long distance relationship works if both are devoted.

i think the trouble mihgt not be with the distance alone, but that you met them online. Not saying that this isnt a good way to meet people, but if you start off with a complication in your relationship (not knowing eachother, living far away) its very hard to continue it. Try searching for online relationships with people nearby in neighboring towns or w/e. You might find this to be easier because you can see eachother much more often and get to know eachother over coffee, instead of over the internet. =)

They never work. I was in a long distance realtionship for 5 years and I got my heart broken. You never know what the other person is doing when your not talking to them. I trusted my guy all that time and suddenly he found someone that "changed" his life. After waiting for him for 5 years imagine my heartbreak!

I don't think they work, one person will always stray eventually if kept apart too long. when searching for people online only connect with those that are local so you have a better chance finding someone and developing a lasting relationship.

Have you ever heard of this quote:
"there is no such thing as 'distance' or 'far' when you want to be with someone you love because you're already there!"...it's true!
Now, after you've read this take your conclusions!
