No! I have one and he is more of a lap dog then a guard dog. He will bark when someone rings the door bell but then he wants to make friends with whoever is there. As for a watch dog, he watches his food dish more then anything. They're cute lovable dogs. I have pictures of him on my 360.

I have a pug and he barks everytime someone rings or knocks at my door. He also barks whenever he hears someone in the yard. However, I have known other pugs who never bark. And pugs will never be good guard dogs. They are too friendly and not intimidating at all. Plus they only get to about 25 pounds max - so they won't be scaring off any bad guys.

Not usually. Some pugs may alert you that someone is nearby by barking gently (Pugs don't bark loudly, in general, because it's muffled by the lips), but most Pugs are more interested in greeting new people rather than scaring them off.

I'd say watch dogs more than guard dogs if anything. I'm not 2 sure.
