But the answers were not convincing enough. If Jesus died for all your sins (future, past etc) does it mean that Christians are allowed to committ all the sins that they want in this world and still go to heaven??

No at all. Paul writes in Romans 5:20-6:4 "The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. "

No, Christ dying for our sins does not give Christians a free license to sin. It is in no way a get out of jail free card. The key to forgiveness of sins is true repentance and a turning away from the sin to amend your life and not repeat the sin. By thinking that all my sins are forgiven so I can just do as I please then I'll just go to confession, say I'm sorry and go and do it all again is a complete farce. By doing so, your confession is invalid because it does not come from a place of true remorse and you have no desire to change your life to avoid making the same mistakes. Without a contrite heart, there is no forgiveness. There must be true sorrow for the sin committed and you must avoid the sin in the future.

No, No, NO!!!! Where do people get such ideas?
Yes! Jesus died for all of our sins.
However, in order to be "saved" one must 1) accept that we are sinners and not worthy to be in the presence of the Perfect God. 2) accept Jesus died for our sins and is our intercessor to God. Our sins have not disappeared, but were paid for by Jesus (the best example is someone taking care of a speeding ticket or fine for us) 3) repent of our sins and 4) change our ways. All four behaviours must be present.
Simply "saying" your are Christian does not make it so, but only God can see our hearts and He'll decide. In the US, we live in a "chrisitan" culture, but many people do not practice Christinanity. This causes A LOT of confusion for non-believers.
If a person contiues to sin one can question if they were truly saved in the first place. This is different from someone who is trying to break through a strong habit or addiction or life situtation. I have seen breakthroughs happen over night with the help of Jesus, but I have also seen it take many months and years. This depends of the heart of the receiver.
The final answer is: God is the ultimate judge. He knows everything about us and will make a fair decision. Keep in mind that "fair" also means dishing out just punishment.
Personally, my sins are piled up so high in front of me that I cannot see yours. I'm too busy working on my own self to worry about whether or not someone else gets what's coming to them or not. God will take care of whatever He needs to take care of.
Many people have trouble with the forgiveness of sins. As if it's unfair. One of my favorite people in the Bible is the thief on the cross who, seconds before he died, called upon Jesus and he was told he would "this day be in paradise with me (Jesus)". The opprotunity for salvation is always there and never expires, ten seonds before your grandmother's death...it can be given her. The "trick" is being sincere and many people don't know when they are going to die so waiting until the last min. isn't a recommended stratigity....besides, you wouldn't be foolin' God anyway.
Better to work on it get right with Him now. You don't have to know all the answers before your know the truth.

No, not at all.. Christian belief is that when you accept Christ into your heart and life, you are at that time forgiven your sins by asking to be forgiven and "saved"... Your past sins become exactly that..in the past.. You begin a new life, hence "born-again"..
From that point on, it is up to you to live your life as God would want.. We are all sinners and we will all make mistakes, that is just human nature, but if you truly accept and believe, you will think long and hard about what you are doing and how you are living your life.
To go out and "sin" purposely and then ask for forgiveness is not being a true Christian and God will know that..
And I am stating my opinion as I see it and live it, according to MY faith..

You can rest assured that Christians that commit sins are candidate for to hell, or at least for Purgatory. I believe that a more severe judgement awaits them, because having been given the "perfect" religion, if they still sinned, that means that their sins are regarded with more severity than those of others. I am a Christian. I have to add though that, Christian or not, every person is the one that ultimately judges herself, not God.
In the Gospel it is spelled very clearly: "You will be judged as you have judged"
WE are the ones who are going to judge ourselves, not God, not the Angels. I believe that in Heaven there is no judgement at all and all are given an opportunity.
They say that, once you die, you suffer on yourself what you had other people to endure during your life. What a better paradigm to get a real sense of the gravity of your so called "sins". I wouldn't like to be in Hitler's shoes.

No it doesn't. Any person who is truly a Christian is bound not to willfully sin. However, as humans we are going to at some point although unwillingly. Asking God's forgiveness is how we are forgiven from that sin which we unwillingly committed. Or say we even willingly sin. Our convictions require us to ask God to forgive us. Which he will do because we are his children. It works much on the basis of our human father/mother. As a child we commit some wrong. Our parent forgives us. Why should God, who is greater than all not also forgive us. It was He who gave our parents the ability to forgive. It does not, however, give us the right to continue sinning just because we are saved from our sins. Some would say that those who profess salvation yet continue in their wicked ways were not saved to begin with. But I would leave that for God to determine.

If you truely have repented, You will NEVER again try to intentionally go back out & sin again. The Bible says he that is Born by the Spirit of God, can NOT sin, which means that they will not willfully do a sin. We still have to understand we are still in this old flesh, & this flesh wars against the spirit. So to answer you, A true born again person will not intentionally commit a sin. Because the sin of unbelieve is a sin or the sin, everything else is the attributes of that unbelieve.

yes and no....
Only true believers in Christ will go to Heaven. If you are a true believer then you would not want to sin. Everyone sins but as a true believer, the Holy Spirt fills your heart and mind with remorse so you will ask for forgiven.
If you are truely saved and the Lord lives in you then yes you could sin and sin and sin and still go to Heaven
Remember only true believer will get to Heaven, just going to church and being nice will not open the door.

No, if you commit a sin you must be TRULY sorry for it (meaning you will never do anything like it again) you will still have to pay the debt of your sin. If you commit all the sins you want then you are not sorry for it in your heart and therefore will not go to heaven. ALso, you still have to pay the price of sin in your own small way and deal with the consequences, Jesus's dieng made it so that we could handle the payment.

What it means is that God acknowledges that because of His gift of free will, people are gonna screw up from time to time. Christ's salvific sacrifice simply makes it possible for the screwupper to repent, and try harder.
There is NO free pass to Heaven. It's God's way or the highway. Keep doing it your way and you'll discover that's the highway.
So why give us free will? Would you rather be a puppet on a string? Is it a sign of love if you imprison the beloved just to keep them "safe"? Put yourself in His shoes. Would you force the one you love to do it YOUR way or else? And if they insisted on doing it a way that was bad for them, would you stop loving them? Wouldn't you give them another chance? See the prophet Hosea and read HIS problems with Gomer, his ex-prostitute wife, for a much clearer idea of God's love for His people.
There's a lot more to it than this short answer. I suggest a Bible Stidy course, especially one which has a teacher who knows the original languages in which the Scriptures were written, ie, Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. Latin would help as well.

As I understand it, some claim that humanity is inherently evil from back the days of Adam and Eve. Jesus supposedly cleared the slate and let christians be free of sin. However, one could still gain more sin afterwards.
That is, according to christianity, before Jesus no one had a chance of reaching heaven at all, except for that one guy of course who ascended directly.
