It's hard to say, hard to compare because they are two different thing.. Serious, but that very much depends on what u want to do, if u r going for accountancy, then there's no need for an A-level.. A level is just a preparation or foundation level, unlike diploma, A-level is very general, ppl take A level to pursue to higher level, whereas diploma is a standalone, u can get a job with a diploma, not to say u cant do the same thing with A level, but most ppl take A-level in view that they can pursue on to higher level.. Even a degree thesedays are very common, so, diploma obviously wont take u far in your career path.. If u r considering of either A-level or diploma to enable u to pursue a degree, then A-level is definitely recommendable.. The syllabus is extensive and more taxing, it helps in your degree, but if u r the sort of person who studies last minute, then i'd suggest u go for diploma.. All the best in deciding.. =)

Unless the diploma is specific to the vocation you are going into.
