It would probably last a lot longer if stored in the freezer...

I was at the store last night to buy my 20 pound fresh turkey and asked the meat manager the same question. He said it is fine in the fridge until Monday when I plan too cook it (in fact he said it would be fine until Tuesday) They had just arrived at the store yesterday. He also just got his yesterday when they arrived and planned to cook his Monday as well.
He did mention - if I wanted to give it a quick freeze of about 1 hour in the freezer I could - this would just put a crust on the outside - but I decided not too since he said it would be fine and I trust him - I've been shopping there for 16 years.
Hope this answers your question.

That question is unable to be answer
I work in a food distribution business the meat might be fresh to the butcher but how long has the butchers suppler had it
fresh meat fully chilled to 4 degrees will be OK for cooking for 7 days but there are many ways that this date can be spoilt
if the meat is left on a loading bay at 15 degrees for half an hour this 7 days is reduced to 3 days
therefor it is recommended that meat be cooked after 3 days
now if this meat is left in your car with heaters on the bacteria will multiply even faster
as long as you cook it to 180 degrees inside heat it will be fine for Christmas

cooked or not? Raw it will probably last a few days, cooked it may last a week. It also depends if it was put in frozen.
