As long as you can hold your liquor and don't mind, or even like, guys hitting on you all the time. At least it's like a 10 to 1 ratio, so you pretty much have pick of the litter, I chose mine and married him. You're going to have to deal with sexist jackasses who believe women shouldn't be in the army, and I always like to point out for being a 'weak' woman I can do more push-ups than most of these whiners. Women do have it a bit easier though. Don't worry about what you can do for the army, the army will teach you anything you want to learn, as long as you do well on your ASVAB which is a written test they give you before you join. If you have college under your belt, it should be a breeze. Free health care, free education while in the service and you can get the MGIB which will pay you to goto college after get out. If you want to have a kid the army's not a bad place to do it, more towards the end of your contract though. The army will pay for all the medical bills and you'll get out of having to do exercise and going into the field, among other things, just because you're pregnant. As for enlisted or officer. Enlisted will give you greater sign up bonuses, like if you still have student loans you could probably get them paid off, plus a nice cash bonus, depending upon which job you chose, could be up to $60,000. Officers on the other hand don't get all the sign up perks but you'll start out making more than twice as much than enlisted, so it's your choice.
Um hope that wasn't too long winded, good luck!

Im in the Army and I love it its a great way to give back to your country for all the great things it lets you do. I enlisted so that I could help ensure that my family and friends had a future. If you have a degree it would be easier on you to advance through the ranks. Go to www.goarmy.com and on the main page there is a little nav panel on the right side of the page that should help you out. It will also help you find a recruiter in your area who will be able to help you out alot better than anyone else. Pvt. Richardson 5-15 Cav Ft. Knox, Ky.

God Bless You. It's nice to hear that you are so proud of being in America. I think you are awesome for wanting to join the Army. Not sure what to tell you really about the Enlisted or Officer part but wanted to let you know that either way you should do it if you feel it in your heart this much. Good luck to you!

If you are thinking about going into the Military its not a bad idea if its really the road you want to walk. Join as an officer, if you think you are qualified to be an effective leader in a society/family where performance is everything, or if you don't think that is your bag or you just want to do you part, go enlisted. Either way you will be expected to be profesionaly/tatcticaly proficient in everything you do. Its really all your choice though that will lead you in any direction you choose.

Do yourself a favor, don't join. If you have a college degree dont waste it in the military. I am in the army and cant wait to get out of the desert and finish school. Unless you like waking up early listening to morons all day, heed my advice, dont join.

IF YOU HAVE THAT MUCH EDUCATION go in as an officer as a bilingualist.
or go for a federal job as a bilingualist(speaks different lagugages). f.b.i. and homeland security should hire you pretty fast.
