Im not sure if this is normal or if it is infected or what. I've had them done for about 3 - 4 months now and havent had this go on before, and like i said it is only on the right side. I dont know if its cause i had bit it and just ****** it up. Basically what i wanna know is if i should take it out and let the lip take care of itself or leave it in and treat it in someway and how. thanks.

I had the same thing happen. Have you recently taken it out to put in another one? That is when mine had this happen.

Go back to the way you took care of it when it was new. Clean it, don't touch it, and rinse with mouthwash a lot, stay away from acidic and spicy foods.

It should go away in a few days if its just minor swelling. Mine wasn't infected and it was fine shortly after. If it continues or puss come out of it, go back to the place you go it done at and have them look at it. If it is infected take it out before it rejects. If a "bubble" forms next to the hole, it is rejected for sure. That is what happened to my eyebrow ring and it rejected and had to be taken out. For now, just take care of it and wait to see what happens. You could have torn the hole slightly by pulling on the ring or bitting your lip, which would cause new irritation.

Try not to touch or move it right now, just clean it alot and take an anti-inflammatory.

Hope that helps.

I have a retired middle labret and it did not damage one bit. actual, the initial piercing is the elementary section. clamp, stab, earrings, performed. that's the aftercare you may favor to be stricken about that's frequently painful. beforehand you get it performed make confident you may preserve it and are waiting for the healing procedure. sea salt soaks are a ought to. blend a teaspoon of non iodized sea salt with a cup of warm, sterile distilled water and positioned it in a dixie up or some thing. tip the dixie cup over the piercing, and carry it there for 15-20 minutes. then rinse with sterile distilled water one element i stumbled on that worked nicely for healing my tongue is biotene mouthwash. that is presented in a white bottle, and is alcohol loose so no burning. you'll get it at any drugstore or food market. yet yeah, the initial piercing isn't undesirable in any respect. everyones soreness tolerance is diverse, yet actually this replaced into probably between the least painful ones i have ever gotten. i'm hoping i helped :]

It's probably infected - I had a piercing that got infected months after I had it done, so it's not unheard of. You can leave it in, but get some antibiotic ointment for it. You should probably use a good antiseptic mouthwash too to help keep it clean.
