The last time I was there (2004), it looks as though the 9 million bicycles have been replaced by 9 million cars! However the population of Beijing is supposed to be 20 million, so there may still be 9 million bicycles around.

Who gave you this number?. Well I know for sure there are a lot of bicycles in China and they ride them like crazy and never obey the traffic lights.

Maybe but it is just a misconception that there are lots of bicycles in China. It was true over 10 years ago but not anymore.
They have many cars and BMWS!!!!!!!
