I don't know how much that this will help but maybe you could give it a try. I have this same thing also. I have light perception now but when I was a child it would bother my vision because it felt like everything was moving with me. Sometimes warm compresses help. Also if you are having trouble seeing while this happens close your eyes. I never had full sight but did have better light perception I could just see light and shadows of things.
Good luck.

Cures are related to gross causes of the neurological condition, if present. But, symptom control, I've found, is managed somewhat with warm moist packs applied to the eyes. Immediately afterwards, the nystagmus seems actually worse, but the moist heat promotes oxygenation of the area and seems to help. UV protective sunglasses are a must. And, a self-hypnosis relaxation tape works wonders. Allergies, especially to dogs, can contribute. Washing the dog to remove the offending dander (it's not the hair that causes the allergy) about once a week works. Also, try slightly tinted (amber) reading glasses for PC work and tv viewing.
