Answer: You Don't. Don't be tempted to take the easy way - steroids will do you nothing but harm. Protein supplements are not ideal either. The best you can do is exercise according to a good program (given by an instructor in a good gym, for example). Use machines/weights properly, i.e. the correct motion. Extra weight does not build your muscle - using the correct weight and the machine/your muscles properly builds mass. Eat food high in protein 30 mins-2 hours after you exercise. Gradually you will see results.

Steroids will build you up almost instantly, but you will regret it a lot. Your body is your best friend - treat it properly, listen to it and you will get the best results.

What do you mean by "fast"?
Gaining strength and muscle takes 3 things:

1) HARD WORK
You need to train as HARD as you can. You're trying to achieve momentary muscular failure with each set you do. Load your movement so that you are unable to perform more than 10 reps (WITH GOOD FORM) in each set. Aim to increase the load gradually each week (that's what those 250g plates are for).

2) POSITIVE NITROGEN BALANCE
This is usually achieved through a high protein diet. Good quality, low fat protein is difficult to cram down in ordinary food unless you're eating lots of it. There are excellent supplements available such as Maximuscle Promax or Holland and Barrett BodyFortress.
Another, less legal, ways of maintaining a positive nitrogen balance is the use of anabolic steroids. You will still need additional protein, but anabolics improve uptake. They usually have the added benefit of increasing your agression levels which makes for more effective workouts. They do have serious side effects for both short term and long term health. Consider very carefully before using them.

3) COMMON SENSE
Training hard requires a LOT of energy. You must make sure you have enough energy to complete your workout. To this end, it is important to take on fuel at least an hour before your session. You can also benefit from energy drink in your rest periods during your workout.

In order to train hard you must also be in good health. This means NOT training, or backing off when you're feeling unwell otherwise you risk over-training and catabolising all your hard earned muscle.

In short, you're not going to go from PeeWee Herman to Arnold Schwarzenegger overnight. It takes time and effort.

Be careful, and good luck.
Cheers.

train as heavy as you can kepping you reps to a maximum of 6 but never below 4 on your last set, stick to the basic heavy lifts like squats, bench press, shoulder press, deadlifts, some arm work like nice heavy curls and some tricep work kepp a good training style stay in control of the weight its not about how heavy you lift it,s about the control breath when you are lifting and get a good protein supplement if you want to go down the road of steriods do your homework first they are any other drug they will kill you if you abuse them you have to use them wisely and use them in cycles good luck
