hi... Birds do not lay down to sleep. They sit on the length of their feet, snuggled in tight. Some birds tuck their head under a wing, some dont. They sometimes tuck up a leg.
*If you see a bird that appears to be sleeping, for example: Laying down, or its head is flopped off to the side, you may need to call a vet (or an adult depending on yr age)
:o) Hope this helped you!

Hi, birds who live outside often sleep coopied down with there head tucked behind them into there feathers or with there head under a wing, then "parrots" sleep on a perch with there head twisted a little bit around onto there back burried into there feathers or with there head facing forward, they almost always sleep on one leg with the other leg toes tucked in and pulled upto there chest, a way to tell if a parrot is healthy is to watch for the foot being tucked up, ill parrots cannot sleep on one foot!

closes his eyes, tucks his head into his wings, and sleeps. If not in the protected nest, somewhere where it feels it is protected from prey or the elements (wind/rain/snow).

if you mean how does he sleep without falling out of a tree or perch...they have a special joint in their leg that basically locks in place while they are sleeping so they don't lose their grip and fall off..........
