If someone like me rejects what you have to say, why can't it stay that way. Where is the repect you claim to have for others. Why do you keep coming back, and why do you become indignant and threatening?

I am not religious, but I am going to tell you what I think about god. I think someone made him up, the bible too. Think about it, when the bible was written, people were very gullible, they would believe anything. I think they started to believe it and it just got more and more popular. The only thing the christian religion has is the bible, hundreds of millions of people believe in god because of one book. That's it, one book, they have no proof, they have never seen him, or anything that has to do with him, no matter what they say. Plus, if Jesus can put himself on the cross and die for all mans sins, then anyone could do it.

When I look at the questions in the religion category, the reverse seems to be apparent. The non-religious seem to be unable to "leave the religious alone". If someone religious rejects what you have to say, why can't it stay that way? Where is your respect for others? Why do you keep coming back and why are you indignant and threatening?

It would seem to me, that if you truly wished to be "left alone", you would shun the religious question board like the plague. Instead, you are here "asking" for exactly what you claim to want to avoid. Why is that? Most would call that hypocritcal. I'm not sure that I would stop at that. I think you have some sort of deep seeded desire for someone to "convert" you. Is that what you are seeking so diligently? If so, you should be more open about your desires.

If you truly wish to be left alone, it's certainly easy to avoid most religious people. You simply stop seeking them out.

It is our duty to spread the gospel and help save souls. The bible says if we are rejected, we are to shake the dust off our feet and move on. This means don't brow beat them.
Either this person really cares about you or they are getting a messiah complex and trying too hard, which actually puts people off; this has the reverse effect.

Sorry dude, but don't say "religious people", say this person.

I dont know about indiganant and threatening, me I myself are sick of people answering my questions with cover all answers (which i generally get from religious people when i ask in the section)

It's almost like these people have such a fundamental lack of faith that they have to over compensate by forcing it on others... which always stinks...

My real beef is with the answer 'god still loves you'

Personally as an agnostic, I find people telling me this offensive... as they probably would if i said 'I find the bible a load of nonsence'

so especially from Christians, there are a lot of double standards on here from them

Sounds like you are hanging around the wrong people. I have never had a religious person harass me. If you are talking about here at Yahoo Answers, then your best tactic is to log off and go seek a life.

That is what you are doing right now. The same way that you and
others like you try to crucify our beliefs, we have the right to defend it.
