I thought I was getting over him and moving on than last night I had a dream about him. . .I'm getting really tired of this whole deal. How do I get over him? I never see him and we haven't exchanged more than a few emails since we broke up. I'm even dating again and I still cannot stop thinking about him. What am I doing wrong here?

Starting to dream about a past love is a sign of getting over him. It's the brain's way of reminding you of something important you haven't been thinking about lately.

Your dream -- that was simply your brain clearing up and sorting out things that had gone through your mind at some level within the recent past.

You don't forget about people (or even things) that have meant a lot to you in the past. But don't dwell on the past. Remind yourself that you've moved on. You're in the present. Look to the future.

Neither you nor he are quite the same people as you were when you were together -- time has moved on.

Learn from the mistakes of the past, but live in the present and keep looking to the future.

Subconsciously you're comparing every guy you meet to him. Just remember that if you dumped him, there had to be serious flaws in the relationship. Don't look at it through rose coloured glasses now.

Leave the past in the past, and move forward with your life.

When a long term, serious relationship (and you were engaged after all) breaks up, it is just like a death. You have to allow yourself to grieve. Six months is nothing.

You aren't doing anything wrong. It is your subconscious running amok while you sleep. It will continue for a while and then fade out over time. I broke up with a guy 4 years ago and still he comes back to haunt me every now and then. Just give it time.

Nothing, you had a serious relationship. You'll never completely foget him. What you need to do is stop worrying about the fact that you think about him from time to time. You cared about him and your relationship clearly meant a lot to you, but it's over now. Accept that it's over and accept that it was meaningful and then you can move on.

I will ask you something, DO U STILL LOVE HIM?
if he comes and ask you out will u say yes?
If all my questions are answered yes, u just go back to him. To me it seems you still do.
If no then dont give a damn about dreams. After sometime you will forget him. Maybe you two had are really good time together!

You can't just stop anything coming to your mind. When it comes, just ask questions yourself. What is the real outcome of this?, Is there any meaning of dreaming?, etc etc. Your answer for all those should sound like; Nothing !! No point of thinking over. Now I have given my heart to someone else. etc etc..

Then automatically you'll forget !!

Good Luck !!!

FIND THINGS TO DO TO KEEP YOU BUSY...I DONT KNOW IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO GET TOGETHER AGAIN IN THE FUTURE, BUT I WOULD TRY TO HAVE ALL MY TIME ACCOUNTED FOR AND AFTER ANOTHER SIX MONTHS TO A YEAR IF YOU STILL HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO MOVE ON CONSIDER MEETING WITH HIM AND HAVING LUNCH... BUT WHILE YOUR KEEPING BUSY AND REMEMBER YOU DONT HAVE TIME TO THINK OF HIM.....IF YOU FIND YOUR SELF DOING SO THINK OF THE THINGS THAT MADE YALL BREAK UP AND WHY IT WILL NOT WORK OUT FOR YOU RATHER IT IS THAT YOU HAVE SELF RESPECT ARE THAT ITS PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE..JUST BE SURE TO THINK OF YOURSELF FIRST IN THIS.

Your telling yourself lies with your head and your heart is feeling something different. Maybe there is a reason for him to be in there, maybe you are not gonna get over him. I don't know the situation but it sounds like you love him still.
