It's just like a straight wedding, they can have maids of honor or not depending on their prefrences, it's not a standard.

Best man and maid (or matron of honor) is bestowed on a best friend or very close relative in a heterosexual wedding. I would think it would be the same in a same-sex ceremony.

There's no "right" way to do it. We had a Best Man (my brother) and a Maid of Honor (my wife's best friend). We both wore dresses, in case you're wondering that. I've heard of all kinds of variations... we chose to keep it traditional in many ways.

Im thinking what the hell...are you that bored that you think of crazy things like that... you know that at a wedding you can do what you want to do.

I have nothing against gay weddings, but I really wish my wife hadn't borrowed the turkey baster from the lesbian couple next door when she was roasting our thanksgiving dinner!

However they want to have it!

If they want all women, then ok, if they want all men, then ok. if they want to mix it up, then ok. ETC
