I have a friend who calls me her best friend and she has had a problem with every guy I've ever dated in my life when she's never even HAD a date in her life. Now, at 26 years old isn't this sort of rude? Do you maybe think she's not a good friend or her standards are maybe too high?

I don't think it's that she's a lesbian. She's been infatuated or as she says "in love" with many guys. I've considered that maybe she's jealous but she has lots of friends and she seems happy. I just don't understand it. Even the nicest guys she's called ugly or a bad dresser or a loser. She is totally nuts! I'm single now and it seems like she goes out of her way to be friendlier then usual.

Personally, i would tell her to start to like them or get over it. She is probably jealous that a guy is taking up her time with you...however you are not dating HER, nor are you choosing these guys for her. Her standards dont matter in this situation, yours do. Could be jealousy, or she could be bitter because she cant get a guy due to being so flippin negative. id tell her to mind her own business and if she were a good friend she would want you to be happy.Good luck.

I think it's right in some sense, but you have to look at the facts, an older guy comes up to a younger girl, starts talking to her, flirting with her. People are going to automatically assume that the guy is a paedophile or a dirty little b**t**d. It's how society is run, and besides I know it's wrong but it's a socially constructed value. Ok yes, I agree with the fact that girls tend to go for older guys but I'm talking about really old guys, old enough to be your father type of guys. Guys want and like sex, its a fact. Sure we have evolved to control these urges but having sex is still the guys priority.

Lots of people have said she's jealous of you but I don't buy that. Girls are finicky. I think probably she's trying to like them but just doesn't. If she's never had a date than maybe her standards are ridiculously high?

I had a friend who fell in "love" with every guy I went out with. It was a nightmare and in the end instead of talking to her about it I just never let her meet any of the people I was with and we drifted apart because we didn't trust each other.

If this girl is really your friend and you want to keep it that way maybe you should just talk to her and let her know that this bothers you. At the very least this will probably convince her to keep her opinion to herself

I think she's just being kinda bitter. Unless the guys you are going out with are real chumps. I think that is quite possible from what I've seen of the men that women date. Not to say that her standards are reasonable (I have no idea if they are -- maybe they're just right and she doesn't get out of the house enough to meet anyone), but maybe you are dating men who aren't worth the trouble. It might be rude for her to point that out to you on a regular basis though. That lack of social skills might be why she's single too. Good night!

not standards, not rude. She can't help it. If she hasn't been in a relationship she probably feels A. super super independent. and B. Possibly slightly jealous. She is independent in the whole aspect that she doesn't NEED a guy so why should you need a guy. She is probably jealous because you spend too much time with your men possibly? A couple of my friends get extremely annoyed with boyfriends no matter how happy I am with the guy i'm with at the time.

I kinda get the feeling that she's jealous of you, or maybe she's a little lez.... Not in a bad way i'm saying, but maybe she's not telling you everything... you should talk to her... let her know what your thinking. If she's a real friend she'll understand, and maybe let you in on a little something.
Hope this helps hun.
Merry Christmas.

I feel your friend has some personal problems. I value my friends and their opinion, but I don't let them tell me how to live my life. If you want relationships and this person creates problems for you then you have to spend less time with them to get on with your life.

It is no different from avoid friends who want to go out on a weeknight drinking all night, when you have work the next day.

I know guys who are the same, they hate their friends to go out with girls, because they feel lonely.

OMG...HELLO!!! news flash sweetie!!!!!!!! Your best friend is a Lesbian! She is Jealous of your boyfriends! SHe likes you for more than just a friend! Whatever will you do? You are in quite a predicament my dear. Serious thinking time.....Are you into that? If not....confront her bout it and if she cant except fact that you two can be no more than friends and she has to except your male friends then I would suggest you go your separate ways. Good Luck!

Unless you are dating some out-of-this-world losers - which I doubt, then I would say her time in your life has run out. She will become a couple-buster in time and you don't need someone that negative in your life. I would begin the departure by giving her a chance at redemption. Do that by telling, not asking, her to refrain from any opinions about the people in your life.
