No, it's kinda clearish, so it is probably not a sinus infection.

If it's allergy related some anti-histamatic might help. But don't listen to me, go to a doctor.

Something tht I can advise is Honey. You can either take it in the form of teaspoon. 1 teaspoon now .... and if you want to continue you can take 2 in a day 1 in morning when you wake up and 1 at night before sleeping. You can also replace the teaspoon of honey with One teaspoon of honey dissolved in glass of warm water (not too hot otherwise it will hurt you). You can take one glass now.

Honey has two good things it provides fast energy and is antibacterial, honey dissolved in warm water is very good for clearing the throat and as ENT (Ear Nose Throat) is connected system it might help ease your sinuses as well.

Sounds like you've got a sinus infection. YOu must go to the emergency room and tell them you need antibiotics.

Question: Is the snot a greenish colour or is it clear? If it's green, then Yes, you have a sinus infection..go to the doctor.

Question: Do you have alleriges? Have you tried using Claratin D?

Also: have you tried using Mucinex? Mucinex thins and loosens mucus and helps you feel better. I have been using Mucinex for a month now, and it works wonders!

Good luck and Feel Better SOON!!!!!

It may sound hackneyed, but chicken soup really does help you get over a cold. Vitamin C and zinc are also good--they build up the immune system. Drink lots of liquids, and eat spicy foods to make your nose run more so that you can get the germs out of your system faster.

When my nose is stuffed up, I usually smell something really strong to clear it. I use tea tree oil, but you could probably use any strong-smelling substance.

I also brush my teeth a lot more frequently and gargle with really strong mouthwash (like Listerine) to kill germs. Every few hours, I spray my bed (or wherever I'm sitting) and the trashcan with Lysol to kill the germs on the bedclothes and on used tissues.

TONS OF WATER & I've been using Zicam....the rapid melts or nasal swabs (if you've really got a runny nose the nasal swabs probably aren't a great idea.) I've used this over the past year and it is like a miracle. I work as a teacher all day w/ kids hugging me & coughing on me & yes, wiping their noses on me....and I rarely get more than a sniffly. Try it...really.....the other thing that really helps is taking a bit of Vicks and pouring hot water over it & inhaling the fumes.....it will really help you clean out that junk in your nose & prevent it from going into your chest....Hope that you get better for the rest of the holiday season....oh - yeah & don't forget chicken soup....nice Jewish penicillin....works like a charm:)

Get some Airborne girl! It'll knock out that cold quick! And for even more immediate relief try taking some zinc lozenges like COLD-EEZE. You can find them in just about any drug store or supermarket cold remedy isle. You can also find them in the vitamin section of a health foods store.

Anyway, I "chain pop" them (have one in my mouth constantly) when I've felt like you do now -- but don't worry -- it's only for about a day because they help you get better QUICK!

You need to drink lots of fluids number one #Uno
The next thing is that your body has a way of getting rid of the junk sort of speak, so it washes it out. If you take antihistamines, your only getting temporary relief and backing up the problem harder to deal with. Let your body work so drink the fluids and ride the storm out.

Amber------sometimes good---old fashioned remedies can work wonders----------"HOT TODDY"--------this works wonders------you take a shot or a shot and a half (an ounce------1.5 oz.)-------dump 'em in a coffee mug------then add your sweetener to taste-------honey is recommended however sugar works fine also-------then you fill your mug with boiling water (yes you can nuke this in the microwave is that is easiest for you)---------a wee bit of lemon is added by many folks (I don't)-----then you drink this as hot as you can stand it-----now the important parts you must listen to--------after drinking this concoction you need to crawl up in that bed and stay there-----and cover up with plenty of bedding--------you are fixin' to sweat it out now----and sweat you will (wash all your bedding after you get better)------most important part of all-----and you MUST do this--------"STAY IN AND WELL COVERED" do that and it will work-----heed my words----if you drink a 'Hot Toddy" and go out into the cold and get a chill----you'll wish you had never been born because the toddy opens up the pores of your skin and if you suffer a chill like this when your system is already compromised it will make you deathly ill for sure.......stay in and stay warm and covered and sleep well-----next day you'll be well on your way to recovery------yes "IT WORKS!" our family has used this for at least four generations. Good Luck Honey----------you will soon be better!
