I GUESS THEY DONT HAVE TIME FOR THEIR LONG HAIR MAYBE THEY NEED TO JUST CUTT IT IT MAKES NO SENSE

Well, I have not noticed the phenomenon as you describe it, but I would suppose that the only thing up with it is fashion, just like 95% of everything you see on people's heads: hair, hat, clips, scrunchies, etc.

If you feel there is a sense or reason to this fashion, you must know more than I do about the symbolic value of these things. I know dreads are often assumed to be Rasta, but other than that, I do not know what you mean.

Hmm that's strange... I have super long hair but never wore a hat in my life. Why would one want to cover up long hair?

Good question...my 14 year old son won't let me cut his hair and wears a baseball cap and it sticks out. I think he looks funny, but I think it doesn't really hurt anything. Every generation has it's own "look". There will be a time where he will tire of it and do something else.
