One key ingredient in the assembly of a great pasta meal is mother nature's blood: water. Every pasta dish requires water! You gotta boil the stuff, first. After you get good al dente (meaning "to the teeth") pasta, you add whatever sauce you desire, commonly marinara. Some pasta dishes are cooked in a garlic butter sauce or some sort of white wine. Some are with cheese sauces. Some are served simply with broth.

Well I just made pasta tonight and everyone loved it. I marinated chicken breast over night in just random spices and some italian dressing. Then I used bow tie pasta and put alfredo sauce, diced tomatoes in basil, garlic and other spices that you buy at the store in the can, corn, red bell pepper, broccoli, onion, and green pepper. It was so good. I love doing that. Also to help with the bow tie pasta put a little extra virgin olive oil in the water as you cook it. That will keep the pasta from sticking together and to the pot. If you try this I hope that you like it. Put cheese on the top for an extra something with garlic bread on the side.

Do you mean when cooking it?
I add a little oil or butter to the water, this stops it sticking together.
