The best home remedy is to add a few drops of pure tea tree oil to your shampoo. Anywhere between 3 to 10 drops (depending on the severity of your dandruff/scalp scaliness) from one of those little bottles from your local drugstore/chemist. Worked brilliantly for me, why not give it a try!
Other than that, "Head N Shoulders" line of shampoos and conditioners are also very effective, and fairly inexpensive. Try the tea tree oil first though!

Here are a couple to try: Massage tea tree oil into the scalp.

Boil 2 heaping tablespoons of dried thyme or sage in 1 cup water for 10 minutes. Strain and cool. Pour the liquid on clean, damp hair and massage it into you scalp.

Wash your scalp with Apple Cider vinegar. soak your scalp and hair for a few minutes and then wash it really good ( or you may smell like the stuff lol)

Senorex. It is a shampoo for scalp conditions and I have heard it does wonders for psoriasis of the scalp.

It may not be what you call a home remedy, but the best thing I've found is nutrogena T gel.Wal Mart also has a cheaper generic version of it.
