No, I don't think God "intends" for us to suffer here on earth. I think that is why we'd like to go to Heaven were there is no suffering. Suffering is part of the human condition. It makes us stronger to go through it. I've been going through cancer treatment. Was that God's fault? No. God got me through it and healed me. Yes, the doctors helped, but in the long run God was always there. I didn't see Him; I just knew He was there. I trusted Him to get me through the cancer treatments and He did. That is faith and it is what gets us past the suffering. Suffering is what draws us to God and helps us in our suffering. It's:"Okay, Lord(God), I've got this problem, I'm hurting, I have something wrong with me and He says: "It's okay, I've taken care of it, don't worry about it. Jesus took care of that." and I say:"Thanks, Lord, I feel better now. I can make it. I can get through this with knowing that."God loves us and will help us if we ask Him.

Suffering from a Buddhist perspective is a human condition, one of the Noble Truths..there are 4 Noble Truths for information only....

If you suffer, there are reasons for your suffering, the 8 sufferings of human beings they are
1. Birth
2.Aging
3.Sickness
4.Being seperated from what we like
5.Meeting with what we don't like
6.Not getting what we like
7.Worry about aging, or Depression and other negative attitudes of the mind over which we have no control
8.Death

These are the causes of human suffering. 'God' did not cause them but all humans are subject to them regardless of your personal doctrine or ideology, you can be free of them however and once freed from these causes, you no longer suffer. The process involved in freeing one's self includes freeing others from suffering also.

If my understanding of christian theology is correct, there are 10 rules to follow to reach heaven, I believe then if you follow these rules properly then you should theoretically be free of suffering also.

In conclusion, I don't think that 'God" intends for all to suffer but suffering is part of the human condition and He and others have provided the means to end it....lets end it shall we..?

Peace to all in this the festive season....

No. We cause most of our own suffering by the choices we make.We can make life on Earth a Heaven or Hell by these choices.

I believe heaven and hell is right here on earth, and some things are what you make of them.Either you make the best out of certain situations or you can just be miserable.Sometimes life throws you a curve ball that is just terrible and there's nothing you can do about it' You just have to deal with it the best you can. Sometimes life throws you pure enjoyment and you should take a minute to remind yourself this is whats life about.

Some suffering is sent by God to strengthen us. And some is the result of our own actions.

You need to read this book, that I bought a long time ago. It's called the "Science of the mind", one of the best books I've ever read in my entire life. No Kidding! I think you'll find your answer in that book. Go to a bookstore and get it or order it online. This book is a MUST read!

I don't feel that God has us here to make us suffer. God only gives us as much as we can handle at any given time. "We shouldn't look at it as suffering" we need to look at it as a lesson in Life.

No.
Jeremiah 29:10

This is what the LORD says: "When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my gracious promise to bring you back to this place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity. [b] I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.

This question, which is asked repeatedly ...........

TRIES MY CHRISTIAN PATIENCE.

God is alpha and omega; himself front and back, i.e.

G O D and D O G

The bible is full of stories that disprove any naive notions that God is ALL benevolent.

He, sends locust, storms, armies, kills by the thousands, destroys villages, cities, nations and kings, makes people blind, plagues, massive floods and earthquakes, and on and on

What does that say to anyone with average intelligence?

Yes, he is a loving and merciful God, but He is not Gandhi.

Deal with it. Please.
