For me it means knowing that I am a spiritual being and being aware of the spiritual Universe as different from the Material or Physical Universe and also an understanding of the inter relationship between these two universes.
Understanding comes from Affinity, Reality and Communication
with other spiritual beings and the material universe that we are operating in. Tolerance and collaboration is a natural result of understanding.

I responded to your question about religion, I think. You must be taking a class or something.....oh well. Spirituality is nothing without the Spirit, the One that Jesus bestowed on us after His assent. There was no written scripture about the Spirit until after Jesus had gone, ie, nothing in the Old Testament. In the Old Testament it was God telling the prophets what the people should do.

We live in such a dynamic time that even though we are not prophets, we can hear from God through His Spirit. Praying, and asking God to empower us with His Spirit everyday will lead us to become more like Jesus. People can feel this Spirit everyday, and is why, I think, there is such an attack on Christianity. No other belief is persecuted as much as Christianity...hmmm, why is that?

Spirituality to me is beleiving in the Supreme Being. We are not forced to accept Him as our God. He gave us freewill so He cannot decide for us. Many are wrong in blaming Him for all the misfortunes in this world. How can that be when He does not medlle in our decisions.

Being spiritual is being a follower of God's teaching. You cannot be spiritual if material wealth mean more to you than obeying His commandments. lt really is a matter of choice.

In French, as well as other languages, "spirituality" is the same word as "Mind". So technically spirituality is really a state of mind. In the science and religious sense, it's the definition of who you really are on the inside, and how your mind works. where and how you get and use motivation, keep and use faith and hope. No one is more spiritual, then anyone else; it's how we define and use our own spirituality that makes us unique, strong, kind, or weak without sense of compassion for others and oneself.

the natural urge for goodness.nothing super about it and no need to kill for nothing either or lies for good (they never work either)
I even tolerate the most god awful stupid precursers of evil just because the ignorant don't know any better and if they are actually kind I'll look up to them in spite of the horible believes they might unknowingly harbor ....
Peace out and good will for the season & happy hooya's too!

for me, spirituality remains alive as a result of practicing humility. Humility, as AA uses it, is a clear understanding of who and what we are, followed by an attempt to become who we could be. it's a two part definition - understanding and action. as I continue to evaluate and react, I continue to loose that feeling of unspiritual fitness. so, for me, spirituality is a result. and one that can go away if I don't continue to form the habits that I hope will take over my life one day thus making me righteous.
