I would just like to put a message out to everyone to please pass this on too. Jesus was Born on 25 December, and i doubt anyone has really said happy Birthday to him. This year i would really love you to all that celebrate this amazing day, to just say a prayer and thank him and wish him a Happy Birthday. We must welcome Jesus into our home and ask him to surround his angel wings around us, our family and the people we love. Let's not forget the one that gave us eternal life on his special day.

Thank you and may God bless you this Christmas, may 2007 bring so much happiness, love, joy, health and wealth to you and your family. Be safe and take care.

According to most of the information out there, the grand majority of it points to his birthday being in either March or April.
The reason why the church decided to place his birthday on the 25th of December is because no one really knows the exact date and mostly because they wanted several pagan tribes to join. But one of the conditions they wanted for joining was to have a winter solstice to celebrate, because they were really big on that especially for the purpose of having a sucsessful harvest the next year. So then the church picked December 25th as the day for his birthday.
Anyone who doesn't know this and goes around bantering that he was born on the 25th of December is just being ignorant and speaking out their @ss.

Do you realise that Xtians have been wishing Jesus happy (belated) birthday for the past 2006 years? He was born on springtime (shephards were with the fields with their flock.... ring a bell???)

Actually, 25th December is birthday for many other figures, Constatine. But It was put at that date by the Church to replace the birthday of Mithras, a Roman God. At that time, a lot of Romans were still celebrating Mithras birthday during winter. THe Church, in order top wipe out the pagan influenced festival, used Jesus Christ, as a sort of replacement. This has been reiterated in Answers so many times.

In fact, there's not a shred of evidence that Jesus was born on December 25. As a matter of fact, nobody knows exactly when he was born. Even so, the message of Jesus is what's important - and this is a message of peace, love and forgiveness. If people would put those into practice instead of holding on to denominational rules and regulations, we would all have a much better world.

Really december 25 IS NOT Jesus birth day you see it says that the sheapards were keeping there watch in the fields when this happened but they have winter at the same time of year that we do and during the winter sheep are not in the fields, so we do not really know when Jesus came to be born and are not told because He does NOT want us to party for that He gave us the seventh Day Sabbath which is from sundown friday until sundown saturday to enjoy our God and the fact He came to save us visit A Seventh Day Adventist Church in your area, and God bless, hay email me to wgr88@yahoo.com

Thank you for your Christmas message and back at you in kind . Jesus was very likely not born on December 25, we just celebrate it that day. The fact is it was emperor Constantine's birthday. He converted to Western Roman Empire to Christian.

Thank you. National Geographic says that Jesus was born in April 19th, 6 BC, and not in December 25, but I am more willing to regard Dec 25th as His symbolic birthday.

Ignore the atheists who have insulted you in this question.

John the Baptist was born on the Passover and Christ was born six months later. He was 33 1/2 when he died. If you're going to do that, at least get the day right. Also, Eastern Orthodox do it on January 5th, which is why they split with Rome. Rome wanted it on a Pagan Roman Holiday and the Greeks wanted it on a Pagan Greek Holiday. Rome won out, since most of Christendom follows them as their example.

No, the person above me is right on how it was originally a pagan holiday adapted and twerked by catholicism to get pagan converters. Jesus was likely born in the Spring. December 25th however is the birthday of: Horus (c. 3000 BCE) Osiris (c. 3000 BCE) Attis of Phrygia (c.1400 BCE) Krishna (c. 1400 BCE) Zoroaster/Zarathustra (c. 1000 BCE) Mithra of Persia (c. 600 BCE) Heracles (c. 800 BCE) Dionysus (c. 186 BCE) Tammuz (c. 400 BCE) Adonis (c. 200 BCE) Hermes Bacchus Prometheus Also Osiris, Krisha, Dionysus, and Mirthra all were resurrected after 3 days and preformed healing miracles. They were commonly known figure heads during the time Jesus(Yehishoa) supposedly lived. Interesting.

Sorry to burst your bubble . But that was the day that the early Christian founders put it at to compete with the Pagan Holy day of Yule held on the winter solstice,DEC20-23. most northern religions hold ceremonies on these days to encourage the sun to return its trip northward bringing longer days and warmth.
The descriptions in the Jewish and Christian bibles points to more likely spring or autumn as the Sheppard's were still tending there flocks in the field .if it was winter (even in the middle east) the flocks are brought in from pasture to protect them from the chill weather and hungry predators.
Jesus is also called the Lamb of God (spring time) and the light of the world (also some connection with the suns journey ). maybe in the sense of the coming of the sun back northwards.

Excuse me, Jesus' birthday on Dec 25 is just assume only, so far NO OFFICIAL DOCUMENT OR HISTORICAL MANUSCRIPT in the world to support that. Is Jesus born on Dec 25? It is still a mystery. Leave the religion point aside, explain to me how a virgin( a girl who never have sex) can get pregnant? We are talking about 2000 years ago!
