Since cells must have a docking port on it for HIV to infect, what happens to HIV in a person who lacks this docking mechanism? Does it just float around in the body? Does it die? and Can the person infect others? Serious answers only.

I am not talking about medication, I am refering to people who have a natural immunity to HIV, due to lack of a docking mechanism on the cell.

The docking port can be blocked with what they call the Cocktail. However those with out docking ports would be fine but they can still infect others. Some people can live almost normal lives. As far as dieing ??? It can lay dorment in your body for quite some time. The link has more.

Short answer is the HIV will not be able to infect any cells, and hence cannot replicate. They will be cleared up by macrophages and be destroyed since they can't "hide" in human cells. The chances of this particular person infecting others is close to zero.

There are actually some people who have HIV in their bodies and never get sick or have any symptoms of it. These people are miricales and I think they hold the key to the cure. Hopefully someday SOON, they're be a cure and there will be no more orphans left behind because of this ridiculous(preventable) disease.
