You must know how intense your relationship is by now. If you want a choice in the kind of ring you get, I'd just ask him. Why is this such a touchy subject for us women? A few years from now he'll be your husband, sitting on the couch belching with his pants unzipped watching football.

My suggestion would be don't get your hopes up too high. My fiance wanted me to look at some rings at the beginning of last december and I started thinking I was getting a ring for christmas...which I feel was a perfectly reasonable assumption. When the ring wasn't there on christmas I was soo disappointed that it left a big shadow on the entire holiday. I did get it on Valentines Day but it about broke my heart when I didn't get it on christmas and was thinking I would.

The fellow has not the courage to 'say' those words.
Or he considers a 'lasting relation' a bygone conclusion and thus does not think it necessary to propose formally
Yet another possibility he wants to find out how costly would you turn out to be before he proposes
Finally, hope not so, he has some one else on mind.
All said and done. He is your boyfriend. You should be the best judge. Others can only speculate and such speculation in matters of 'Heart' has many pitfalls - care full.

Yes and No...yes he is probably going to propose, but No, not necessarily soon. My bf wanted to know what kind of ring I wanted, I found it (Sept 2005), he bought it (June 2006), but still hasnt given it to me!

Not always, he may just be asking you, or he may be buying you a Christmas present, the best thing to do is not get your hopes up, and if he does propose then it will still be a huge surprise. If you think he is gonna proposes and he doesn't, then you will be so disappointed.

Don't count on "soon." It really means he is just now starting to look. My fiance and I talked about it for a good while before he started to look, and then he actually took around 5 months looking for the perfect ring.

Well that depends. Christmas is round the corner so it could be a Christmas gift. However, your guess could be correct that he may pop the question to you during this seasons of joy.

Mostly, but not always. It could just mean he is thinking about it, not that he is going to do it any time soon.

No, It could be just a frienship ring, don`t be dissapointed if it`s not an engagement ring.
