Dear Luckytiger,

The nativity story can be found in the gospels. i personally like the one in Luke 2 because we've studied that in recent weeks and months with our college group and my high school small group at church.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

The Nativity story can be found in two books of the New Testament. The start of the Book of Matthew and the start of the Book of Luke. They have difference, but relate the birth of Jesus and the difference is in the details. This can be explained by the fact that no two people have the same point of view on events they both witnessed first hand. Mary probably told one part of the story and Joseph, or someone else who had heard him tell it told the other half. Just because there are different versions doesn't mean both aren't true. However, don't worry about it. You asked where they were. In Matthew and Luke. Read both and enjoy.

Matthew and Luke both have different Nativity stories that people often combine into one narrative. Try reading the first few chapters of those two books. Mark and John both lack origin stories for Jesus. You could also find nativity stories in Gnostic gospels or other apocryphal writings.

All four of the gospels... (Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John) have details of the Nativity story.
