Hi, I have a desire to learn a little bit more about other religions. I am reading about Islam, and I know that they do not consider Jesus as the son of God. So this would mean much of the New Testament would not sound true for them.

However, my question is whether or not the Old Testament is included in their teachings? Since the Old Testament would be older than the Quron right?

In the mean time I will be reading a lot more, so please excuse my ignorance.

We believe in the Orignal Torah, Gospels, and Psalms as revelations from God, but we do not believe the ones which exist today to be perfect in their message, as people have changed their meaning.

[021:105] And indeed We have written in Az-Zabûr [i.e. all the revealed Holy Books the Taurât (Torah), the Injîl (Gospel), the Psalms, the Qur'ân] after (We have already written in) Adh-Dhikr [Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz (the Book that is in the heaven with Allâh)] that My righteous slaves shall inherit the land (i.e. the land of Paradise).

[021:106] Verily, in this (the Qur'ân) there is a plain Message for people who worship God(i.e. the true, real believers of Islâmic Monotheism who act practically on the Qur'ân and the Sunnah – legal ways of the Prophet ).

No, we do not follow the teachings of the Old Testament. To the person above me, please show me the verses in the Quran that speak of killing infidels.
Are you speaking of this?
[Quran 9:5] "So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."

The command to fight against the perfidious and treacherous group of infidels who persistently violated the treaties and tried to destroy peace and security, was to restore law and order in the society. The command was NOT general but only refers to particular groups of the Makkan idolaters who were notorious offenders. They used to harass the Muslims whenever they found them helpless and when overpowered prayed for amnesty by making treaties which they used to break before their ink was dried.

When war becomes inevitable it must be fought with vigour. It may take the form of slaughter, or capture, or siege or ambush, but even then there is room for repentance and amendment, and if that takes place forgiveness is enjoined for the establishment of peace and harmony.

Isn't the new testament also older than the Koran?

I appreciate that your open mindedness. What I know from muslims, is that they do speak about Jesus, only they don't believe that it was Jesus who was crucified, but that it was actually Judas who took his place. I've only been told this though by another Christian.

All 3 religions have a same source... They originated from a single religion, as years passed by, different views and ideology by people gave birth to new religions by molding the previous religion. I am an Atheist btw :P

who's the truth the BIBLE who is said to be not perfectly preserved and has not the truth but teaches LOVE and TOLERANCE or the KORAN who is said to be perfectly preserved but teaches its people to KILL and HATE the infidels to the extent of killing them???

thats the problem with koran or whatever religion of any doctrine that spurge out hatred seeing themselves to be the purest of the pure.
living in this world is so beautiful we can live side by side but the problem is the doctrine that these leaders inculcates in their believers.
the reason why these muslim people are acting these way are because of what they believed at they just do what their god is expecting them to do.
they are blinded in short be open minded and tolerant that's the way it is.
