My little sister is 6 years old and she has ben sleepwalking and then peeing every night now for a week. I am getting scared, because on the internet they say that sleepwalking is very bad! I have been doing some research and found out that kids usually sleepwalk when there is something that won't let them sleep, but yet they still can! Our grandmother died and we have no other grandmothers. Our Aunt is living with us now! Is that why she sleepwalks?

Usually sleepwalking is caused by something a child is worried about. Being anxious about school or maybe she still have thoughts of her grandmother.
Be sure and have all doors locked so she can't get outside.
Sleepwalkers don't remember the next day that they have done it. She can't help peeing when she sleepwalks.
It will get better. I know first hand. My daughter did and now her son does.

That could be the problem, and your anut may need to take her to see a doctor. Cause this may be the way she is dealing with the death of her grandmother who just died. She is only 6 and she proably can't figure out why she had to died, and proably has a lot of questions that she need answering, but don't know how to ask them. I would say it is connected to the grandmothers death, since that is when she started to do it. So i would try to find someone who can help her through her griefing stage.

Alot of kids start doing weird things like sleepwalking and other things when something bad or scary happens to them. Having a grandma die would count as bad/scary, so that's probably why. You should tell your parents or whoever's taking care of you to take her to a therapist.

Perhaps your sister is distraught about your grandmother's death and/or the subsequent changes in your family lifestyle and this is causing her symptoms. If this continues for any period of time, I'd say you should probably take her for an evaluation by a psychologist or psychiatrist. In the meantime, maybe you can get her some Pull-Ups.

Always ask the ped. when you start questioning things. Looking on the internet will explain all options, however this may be the way she is cooping with change or it could be something else. A doctor can help you figure it out.

She could be experiencing the life changes internally, and they are manifesting in this manner. Re-assure her that she is still loved and that you care about her.

Make sure she goes to the bathroom before bed and try to spend sometime with her before she falls asleep.
