Correction There is no error in translations. Original manuscripts are photographed and available to view on the internet. They are written in Hebrew and Greek, and they are easliy translated considering they are still spoken languages today.

16 replies and none yet... So many people tell me that there are contradictions in the bible. But no one can give me any. I have been reading the bible for years, and I have found none. Yet people who have never read the bible, dare make the statement that they no of contradictions that will ruin my faith.

Oh, and for Eldad... the first one on your list is wrong. Look up the whole verse and stop taking it out of context.
2 Samuel 23:6 These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.
Note Tachmonite, Adino and Eznite
1 Chronicles 11:11 And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had; Jashobeam, an Hachmonite, the chief of the captains: he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain by him at one time.
Note Jashobeam the Hachomnite
Interesting... It sounds like 3 different people... 2 in 1 verse and 1 in the other... Yet your reference takes it out of context and just says
2 Samuel 23:6
The ... chief among the captains ... he lift up his spear against 800, whom he slew at one time.
and
1 Chronicles 11:11
the chief of the captains: he lifted up his spear against 300...
Misquoted

Here's a sensible reconstruction.
About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
When some of those standing there heard this, they said, "He's calling Elijah."
Jesus said, "I am thirsty." A jar of wine vinegar was there, so (i)mmediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink (MT)/ they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus' lips (JN). The rest said, "Now leave him alone. Let's see if Elijah comes to save him."
When he had received the drink Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. (JN)/And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice(MT)/ Jesus called out with a loud voice (LK)/"Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." When he had said this, he breathed his last(LK)/gave up his spirit(MT).

So by reasonably equating John's "giving up" of the spirit with total event of the final cry, the problem is resolved. We need only recognize that John is focusing on what Jesus said that was not shouted publicly - the plea of thirst, the statement of completion, and the turning over of responsibility for Jesus' mother to John. This fits in with his station at the foot of the cross.

OK here we go...
Abraham in verse 22 of Genesis had only one son. Remember its a timeline. So the writer in Hebrews is refering to the fact that "when he was tried" Abraham offered his son, it was his only begotten son. After that He had more kids

Joseph pleads to Pilot to take jesus' body. Joseph has charge of his body and buries him.
If I send my wife and kids to the store to get some milk. When someone asks where my wife is, I don't say Judy, Laura and Joey went to get some milk. After all I am talking about Judy here, I will say she is at the store. The first two writers did not find it important to include Nicodemus.
Yet John did, why... maybe because John recounts the story of Nicodemus which is the greatest gospel ever shared. You should read it in John chapter 3.

This last one about david and goliath is just a style of writing. All over the old testament it says something like Moses blessed the congregation. He lifted up his hands and thus blessed the congregation. Does that mean that he did it twice? No, anyone who is familiar with scripture knows this. Things are repeated to affirm that something happened. Not to affirm that someone died twice. Look... it helps to link em together
David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David. David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him,and cut off his head therewith.
First he says the whole thing prevails/smotes/slews
Then ";"
He injects the second statement saying he took the sword and cut off his head.
So he prevailed meaning he won. then he smote him with a rock. Then he slew him by cutting off his head with a sword.

One more thing...
The reference of having 2 children in Galatians.
Now a person can skip over a chapter pick out what they want and TOTALLY miss the point. If you read the whole chapter of Galtians chapter 4 you will read that first, The writer of Galatians was speaking allegorically. He was talking about 2 lineages of Abraham. One being free and the other being a bondservant. He wasn't talking about the exact number. He was putting an emphasis on the women. He after all was referencing to something that was written well before his time. He knew how many sons abraham had. It was just not important. It was important to show where those kids came from, and he clearly emphasizes this. But you have to read the whole thing. AND STOP TAKING THINGS OUT OF CONTEXT. It does not work. I can take the dictionary out of context and make it sound fake or whatever I want it to. But if I read it as a whole. I will find that the Dictionary is quite truthful, despite the different definitions.

I will not believe something they found on a web site. If someone can come here and show me contradictions they have found with their own eyes I just might give it a second thought to even look at it, but all they ever give is allot of talk and a link! Hebrews 11:17
By faith Abraham when he was tried, offered up Isaac, ... his only begotten son.
Genesis 22:2
Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, ... and offer him there for a burnt offering.
Abraham had more than one son.

Genesis 21:2-3
For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son is his old age .... And Abraham called him Isaac.
Genesis 25:1-2
Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah. And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
Galatians 4:22
Abraham had two sons; the one by a bond-woman, and the other by a free woman.

Who buried Jesus?
Joseph of Arimathaea
Matthew 27:57-60
When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple: He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.
Mark 15:43-46
Joseph of Arimathaea ... took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre.

Joseph ... of Arimathaea ... took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre.
Joseph of Arimataea and Nicodemus
John 19:38-42
Joseph of Arimathaea ... took the body of Jesus. And there came also Nicodemus.... Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid. There laid they Jesus....
The Jews and their rulers
Acts 13:27-29
For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him. And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain. And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What color was Jesus' robe? Scarlet.
Matthew 27:28
And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.
Purple.
Mark 15:17
And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head."
John 19:2
And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How did David kill Goliath? With a sling.
1 Samuel 17:49-50
David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth. David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.
With a sword.
1 Samuel 17:51

most of the seeming contradictions come from people picking single verses out of different books that occur at different times and mashing them together.

Don't bother. Even if you were to thoroughly refute every one of the so-called contradictions, (which is possible), people will still choose not to believe because they LOVE their sin.
2Pe 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation.
