I just recently got a 1998 ranger 4.0L 5spd It has good tourqe fair Hp but will not go faster than 100mph it just holds constant. I think it is electronically limited. Im not trying to build a race car but would be happier if the truck could be allowed to do what it can.

Well........forgetit unless you know someone who's a computer wiz . it's in the ECU. there is no way to do it and if you find a way you are commiting a felony ! In case you don't know it ......It is a FELONY to drive at any speed from 100 on up ! you loose your truck , your right to drive & your freedom ! ( it's a mandatory jail sentance) If you get in a wreck and someone is hurt you get 5- 10 in the pen !

Why would you want to do over 100 mph in a Ranger? Unlike cars, trucks are not stable at that speed.

get an ecu upgrade or a vehicle computer programer to remove or change the truck's top speed limiter

You need to remove the "governor" that regulates max speed, but be careful and check first, cause in many states and provinces, this would be illegal, as it affects the anti-pollution system.
