Look what Jesus says about the Nicolatians in the Bible. The Nicolatians followed a god who rode around in the air around the time of the Winter Solice, who had a sled, and was pulled by goats that flew. (or maybe reindeer) This god could tell who had been bad or good, and gave gifts to the good people.

This god's name was Nicolas, and since the church has brought in so many pagan tradtions to appease the heathen, they simply called him Saint Nicolas.

God bless!

Santa has nothing to do with the teachings of Jesus. Santa is something made up to help us get over spending so much on christmas and maxing our cards out!!!

The idea behind Santa Claus is that Santa Claus loves children and gives to everyone, without showing respect to persons, regularly and consistently. The ideals of giving to everyone without judging and taking care of children are consistent with the teachings of Jesus Christ. I personally have issues with Santa Claus because I never want my future children to be able to accuse me of lying to them, but as long as I teach them that it's not a true story, but that Santa Claus is anyone who wants to give anonymously, I think that'll be about right.

If Jesus said to not be like the pagans, then yes. Santa is a pagan myth, just as the christmas tree is a pagan tradition, as well as easter eggs and pumpkin carving. The actual holidays are also pagan based.

depends on how you view his actual history--he was a pagan wizard who wandered the earth helping people and was reputed for leaving gifts in children's shoes
